Simon shares lots of useful tips and advice eg some nice advice on how to bring up kids and his views on education, although I personally had a lot of fun at university and got so much out of it from a life point of view , although what I learned has not helped me in my professional life really.. At the end of the day, I think we all know reading a book is not enough to make money.
It's barely the first step.. It's up to the reader to get out there and start something real themselves.. I marked inside the cover as 're-read again' to remind myself to reread this book in the future to reabsorb the information. The thesis of the authour is right: The problem is that he puts too much emphasis on making money as the most important driver to become an entrepreneur whereas he disregards the crucial importance of being really passionate about the subject related to the business you would like to start!
As far as this point, he mentions Richard Branson and Ray Kroc as examples of successful entrepreneurs but both of them clearly said that their main driver was being passionate about the business they started. Here are two meaningful quotes by RB and RK: I've just been interested in creating things that I could be proud of. The by-product of creating things is that you have to pay the bills, so somebody has to add up the numbers at the end of the year to be sure that the bills are being paid, but a good entrepreneur isn't really thinking about pounds, shillings, pence or dollars.
They're trying to create this beautiful picture - something which people love - something which will make a difference in their lives and something that they can be proud of. The end result can be that the bills get paid and you build a billion dollar business.

But if you think, 'How am I going to make a billion dollars? Your principal interest has got to be creating something that will really make a difference to people's lives. In conclusion, I can't say it's a masterpiece but it can be a nice reading!
Really nice book to read. I really liked the parts highlighting the different entrepreurs, and Simon telling in his own words his own humble beginnings and full story as well.
I learnt alot from his life experiences and what not to do. I thought the book was great as it gives a broad area of knowledge for people like myself who are starting out in business and want to learn new things and progress forwards. Very inspiring, well done Simon, you did great!!!
A great read - I found it really inspiring and am looking forward to putting into practice all the things I've learned. A truly good book for entrepreneurs.
